Surf / Wind surf

If you’re a fan of surfing, you’ve come to the right place. We highly recommend checking out the nearby Lio, Duli, and Nacpan beaches, which are the best surfing spots in El Nido. The best season to surf in El Nido, Philippines is generally from November to April. During these months, the wind and waves are typically more consistent, making for ideal surfing conditions.

At Lio Beach, you’ll find great waves suitable for all levels of surfers. It’s the perfect spot for beginners to take their first surf lesson. Duli Beach is known for its consistent waves and beautiful scenery. It’s a bit more secluded than some of the other surf spots in the area, so it’s perfect if you’re looking for a more peaceful experience. Nacpan Beach is another fantastic option for surfing. This stunning beach is known for its long, rolling waves, making it a great spot for both longboarders and shortboarders alike.

Manta ray watching

Manta ray watching is a popular activity in Sibaltan, a small fishing village located in the northern part of El Nido. Sibaltan is home to a unique species of manta ray known as the reef manta ray. These gentle giants can reach up to 5 meters in width and are known for their graceful swimming patterns and impressive acrobatics.

You’ll have the opportunity to snorkel alongside the manta rays as they gracefully swim through the water. It’s important to respect the animals and maintain a safe distance so as not to disturb them. Manta ray watching in Sibaltan is a truly unforgettable experience and is highly recommended for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. The best time to see manta rays in Sibaltan is generally from April to December.

Canopy walk

The canopy walk in El Nido is a popular activity for those looking to get a unique perspective on the lush forests and stunning landscapes of Palawan. This thrilling experience takes visitors high above the treetops on a suspended bridge, providing breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and forests.

The walkway itself is relatively short, taking only around 30 minutes to complete. However, the experience is unforgettable, and you will have the opportunity to take stunning photos of the surrounding scenery from several different vantage points.

Waterfalls

Our recommendation is Kuyawyaw Waterfalls, a natural wonder located in Barangay Liminangcong in Taytay, around 57 kilometers away from El Nido town, and the travel time is approximately 1 hour. This stunning waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and rock formations, making it a picturesque destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers.

El Nido it also has several stunning waterfalls that are worth a visit.  Nagkalit-Kalit Waterfalls – Located in Barangay Pasadena, about 40 minutes motorbike drive, this waterfall features a two-tiered drop, and visitors can enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool waters. You have to trek for around 30 to 45 minutes through a forested area to reach the waterfalls.

Bulalacao Waterfalls – Located in Barangay Bucana, about 1 hour with motorbike, this waterfall is a hidden gem surrounded by lush greenery and features a beautiful 25-meter drop. The trek is for around 30 minutes to reach the waterfalls.

Sailing

El Nido Sailing is a great option for those who want a more intimate and leisurely way to explore El Nido’s islands and beaches, away from the crowds of other tourists. It is also a more environmentally friendly option compared to motorized boats, as it relies on the wind to power the boat, reducing noise and air pollution.

Sailing El Nido is a popular activity that allows you to explore the beauty of the Bacuit Bay and its surrounding islands on a sailboat. It is a unique way to experience the natural beauty of El Nido and its surrounding islands, with the wind and waves carrying the boat to some of the most picturesque and secluded spots in the area.

El Nido is a haven for water sports lovers, and kayaking is one of the best ways to explore the splendor of its pristine waters. Kayaking brings you up close to the towering limestone cliffs, hidden lagoons, and immaculate beaches that make El Nido an unrivaled destination.

As you glide through the tranquil waters, you’ll be surrounded by awe-inspiring natural beauty, with every stroke leading you to a new vista of sheer rock formations, verdant foliage, and glimmering emerald waters. Discover secluded beaches and coves where you can indulge in a refreshing swim, soak up the sun, or savor a delicious picnic lunch. While kayaking is a fantastic way to explore the stunning natural beauty of El Nido’s waters, we advise all guests to be mindful of strong winds that may arise unexpectedly.

Ille cave

Nestled in the heart of the stunning Dewil valley, Ille Cave, is a valuable archaeological site and natural wonder. This cave provides a window into the distant past, as it reveals evidence of human habitation in the El Nido area over 12,000 years ago. Excavations have yielded numerous artifacts, including pottery and animal bones, as well as signs of cremation dating back 8,000 years.

Although there is no formal display of the artifacts found in Ille Cave, visitors can immerse themselves in the natural wonder of its chambers and learn about its history through informational boards scattered throughout the site. We highly recommend bringing a flashlight to discover the cave’s hidden corners and admire the stunning rock formations that have formed over thousands of years. However, visitors must exercise caution while exploring, as some areas can be slippery, uneven, and mystifyingly dark. Yet, the cave’s untamed beauty and enchanting aura make the journey an unforgettable experience for nature enthusiasts and adventurers alike.
